Headphone Disco Coming To Indigo Courtesy Of SPA

Picture a quiet room full of people dancing and jamming like they’re at a rave. You may be asking yourself how or why this would work.

If you’re intrigued enough to find out, Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA) is bringing the “Headphone Disco” back to State College on Wednesday, Oct. 21. For those who may not remember what a silent disco is or have never been, essentially everyone who enters will receive a pair of wireless headphones (which SPA will provide for free). Throughout the show, guests will be able to switch their headphones between two dueling DJs silently battling for dominance and dancers.

The best part is if you were to walk into the room, without headphones, you would see people going crazy in silence. All of the main speakers in the room will be off, and the only sounds will be people’s movements. It’s a unique experience to say the least.

This year’s disco will be held at Indigo from 9 p.m. to midnight. The event, which is alcohol-free, is free and open to all students — all you need is your Penn State ID. If you’re interested in dancing your heart out (in complete silence), stop by Indigo Wednesday night for this one-of-a-kind opportunity.
