Charity Drag Show This Saturday

by: Brett Atanasio

The Charity Drag Show sponsored by OutLaw, Phi Alpha Delta, and the LGBTA Roundtable will be this Saturday, November 7, at 8:00 p.m. in 105 Forum Building. Doors open at 7:45 p.m. The estimated run time of the show is an hour and a half.

Tickets for this Saturday’s Charity Drag Show will be for sale in the lobby of the Katz building, or the LGBTA Resource Center (101 Boucke) on Friday of this week Tickets are $3.00. You can also purchase tickets at the door on Saturday (but not if we run out). All proceeds from the show will be donated to the True Colors Fund to benefit homeless LGBT youth. The True Colors Fund is working to end homelessness among lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth by working with community organizing, public engagement, policy, research, and youth collaboration programs

Performances including lip-syncing, dancing, and more will be done by law students, undergraduates, and alumni. Please be warned that performances may include sexual or profane content.

If you don’t know where the Forum building is, it’s on Curtin Road (same road as the Creamery) next to the Palmer Art Museum (the large red building with the giant lion paws out front). The closest parking is either Nittany Parking Deck on Fischer Road, or the East Parking Deck next to the Creamery on Bigler Road. It’s about a five-minute walk from either.

OutLaw is Penn State Law’s LGBTQA student organization dedicated to providing social, educational, professional, and philanthropic opportunities for Penn State Law’s LGBTQA community. OutLaw strives to foster a dialogue with the larger campus community about the legal status of LGBTQ persons in society, the ways in which the law interacts with the lives of LGBTQ persons, and being LGBTQ in the legal profession.
