ABC, Ford Partner To Raise Money For THON With #6abcFTK

I take action so that no parent will ever have to hear the words “your child has cancer.”
You’ve probably seen that dozens of time while scrolling through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram this week. That’s because Ford and a local ABC affiliate have partnered to raise money for THON through a social media campaign.
Ford and ABC will each donate $1 for each post on any social media platform with the hashtag #6abcFTK, up to $10,000. Some posts incorrectly say Ford and ABC will donate $1, however both companies are donating FTK.

“It’s a great way for people to not only share how they are involved with THON and raise awareness on social media for childhood cancer, but to also easily fundraise,” PR Captain Casey Weaver said.

With the removal of two out of three canning weekends this fundraising season, orgs must rely on alternate fundraising to raise money. Special initiatives like Penn State football and basketball donating a portion of ticket sales are another way Nittany Lions are getting creative in their fundraising efforts.

“We are excited that partners like 6abc bring these opportunities to us,” Weaver said.

You can view a stream of the posts using the hashtag on 6abc’s website.
