SPA Announces Dr. Marc Lamont Hill Will Speak During Distinguished Speaker Series

The Student Programming Association announced on Monday that Dr. Marc Lamont Hill will speak on February 10 as part of its Distinguished Speakers Series.

Dr. Hill will present his lecture titled “Building Community in an Hour of Chaos: Progress in the Age of Obama”, which will discuss the current social and political topics, controversies, and issues, that have come up during the Obama era.

Currently a Professor of African American Studies at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Hill has also made his mark in a number of fields. He has worked as a journalist, political activist, author, and television personality as the host of HuffPost Live, BET News, and a political contributor for CNN. Ebony Magazine named him one of Americas 100 most influential black leaders in 2011.

The lecture will be in Alumni Hall in the HUB and is free and open to all students. Visit SPA’s website to view its calendar of upcoming events.
