Performers Wanted For Sixth Annual ‘Happy Valley’s Got Talent’

If you’re a performer in Centre County looking to share your talents, you’re in luck. Tides, a support program for grieving children, will hold auditions for its sixth annual “Happy Valley’s Got Talent” fundraiser this month.

Dancers, vocalists, comedians, and more are invited to audition on Saturday, February 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, February 28 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Indigo. Separate auditions will be held for pianists and dancers on February 28 from 4:30 p.m to 5:30 p.m. at The State Theater.

Performers will be placed into one of three age groups at auditions, consisting of the 10-14 year old division, the 15-20 year old division, and the 21 and over division. Four acts from each of divisions will advance to the final round and compete for cash prizes (up to $250) at the event on April 2.

This year’s judges include Sue Paterno and Mayor Elizabeth Goreham, with local comedian Fred Metzger and radio host Jerry Valeri serving as emcees. Performers from the past will accompany this year’s talent on the stage for the star-studded evening.

Tides hopes to raise $50,000 to benefit the program.

Tides encourages all performers to apply online prior to the audition dates, but in-person registration will be accepted at auditions. There is no fee to participate. More details can be found online, as well as the event’s Facebook page.
