55 Days Of Cafe Kicks Off Today

As Penn Staters return to State College after presumably eventful spring breaks, drinking might be the last thing on anyone’s mind. But for some weekday warriors, it’s time to polish up the liver and put on your drinking hats: The 9th annual 55 Days of Cafe is here.

For many that are not familiar, Cafe 210 West (a bar infamous for outside “cafe tea” consumption) hosts its annual 55 Days of Cafe every year. It offers fame and glory (read: your name goes on a plaque) to any 21+ year old who can withstand buying at least one menu item from Cafe 210 West every day from now until the end of the semester. The challenge is more of a marathon than a sprint, as it proves difficult to Penn State students who have a hard time trying to find time every day to fit it into their schedules and immune systems.

55 Days will end the Monday after graduation and will also allow participants the Easter holiday off. Challenge-goers should pay attention to the rules outlined here on their website. For pro-tips, check out the wise words of alums past.

Good luck on your quest to infamy.

Yes, it’s true. I am both a Klingenberg and a soccer player. This is potentially the first time I’ve ever introduced myself by these two identities, and it will probably be the last.
