Three-Star OT Robert Martin Picks Penn State

James Franklin’s Nittany Lions nabbed a commitment from one of their top offensive line targets prior to the Blue-White Game, as three-star Montvale, N.J., offensive tackle Robert Martin joined the Class of 2017.

Martin, who is heading into his senior season at St. Joseph Regional High School, is the second offensive lineman to commit to position coach Matt Limegrover and Penn State on Saturday, following four-star offensive guard C.J. Thorpe out of Pittsburgh’s Central Catholic. With Martin and Thorpe on board, Penn State’s 2017 bunch now boasts six verbal commitments and is up to 18th in the nation and sixth in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports.

Standing 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, Martin held a reported 11 offers before pulling the trigger in favor of the Nittany Lions. He’s considered the 10th-best prospect from the Garden State and 47th tackle nationally, according to 247Sports.
