Karl Rove And Paul Begala To Take Stage At The 2016 Great Debate

Political strategists and former presidential advisers Karl Rove and Paul Begala will take the stage at this year’s Great Debate focusing on the topic “Entitled America? The Role of Government in Everyday Life.”

The annual debate is the product of a collaborative effort between College Democrats and College Republicans. Last year’s event featured Dr. Ron Paul and Congressman Barney Frank.

Rove, a Republican, served as the Senior Adviser and later Chief of Staff to President George W. Bush. During his time with the President, he was responsible for the Offices of Strategic Initiatives, Political Affairs, Public Liaison, and Intergovernmental Affairs.

Begala, a Democrat, worked with President Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign and was Clinton’s counselor when he took office. He has since served as an adviser to political campaigns across the globe and has also written several best-selling books.

The debate will be held on Monday, April 25 at 8 p.m. in Schwab Auditorium, with doors opening at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets will be available at several times and locations: April 21 at 311 HUB, April 22 at the HUB information table, and April 25 at the HUB philanthropic table (first floor).

Tickets are free but limited, so be sure to pick yours up before the event.
