Anthony Zettel Selected No. 202 Overall By The Detroit Lions

Penn State defensive tackle Anthony Zettel was selected with the No. 202 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft Saturday afternoon.

The West Branch, Mich., native finished his collegiate career with 20.0 sacks — good for seventh all-time in the school record books — while adding 120 total tackles, 38 tackles for loss, and four interceptions. Though he’s somewhat undersized, Zettel’s supreme athleticism should allow him to carve out a nice role for himself either along the defensive line, at outside linebacker, on special teams, or even at tight end, where he took a few reps during his Pro Day workout. Zettel earned his Kinesiology degree this past December.

Zettel’s fellow draft-eligible Wild Dogs, Austin Johnson and Carl Nassib, were selected No. 43 and No. 65 overall by the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, respectively.

Congratulations, Anthony! We can’t wait to watch you represent Penn State with pride on Sundays.
