Rent, Annie Included In Center For Performing Arts Season

The Center for Performing Arts announced their 2016-2017 season lineup on Thursday, including lauded musicals Rent and Annie.

The season, which runs from September to April, features 27 performances of theatrical and musical acts from Broadway touring companies to Penn State student performers.

“I’m excited about the incredible range of amazing performances we’re bringing in 2016–2017,” CPA director George Trudeau said in a press release. “The season will offer something for everyone to enjoy— both returning favorites and the opportunity to make new discoveries. Join us!”

“Saloon, A Musical Acrobatic Adventure” from Cirque Éloize kicks off the season on September 21 at Eisenhower Auditorium. For children and fans of Fred Rodgers, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Live! will perform a matinee show on January 15, pleasing a combination of fans of modern children’s show “Daniel Tiger” and fans of the classic Mr. Rodgers’ Neighborhood.

Tickets go on sale to the public on July 11 on the Center for Performing Arts website, by phone, or in person at Eisenhower Auditorium, the Downtown Theatre Center, and the Bryce Jordan Center. The full lineup can be found on the Center for Performing Arts website.
