New Restaurant Coming To Allen Street

A new eatery is coming soon to South Allen Street.

Signage for Sauly Boy’s on Allen was recently placed in a window of the building at 124 S. Allen St., which was last occupied by Philly Pretzel Factory. The local franchise of that chain moved to the Walmart on Benner Pike in 2013.

According to the signage and the Sauly Boy’s website, the restaurant will specialize in “gourmet hot dogs, distinctive burgers, loaded fries and Stella’s gelato.” Sauly Boy’s is accepting job applications through its website, which does not indicate an opening date.

The restaurant appears to be owned by the proprietors of Irving’s Bagels and Fiddlehead, according to the online application as well as a graphic design firm’s brand identity proposals for Sauly Boy’s found online. The owner’s could not immediately be reached for comment.

For years, the building was home to Graham’s Newsstand and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream. They closed in 2007.

Sauly Boy’s will be the second new restaurant to open on South Allen Street in the past year. Champs Sports Grill opened its second location across the street at 139 S. Allen St. in December 2015.
