Three-Star Receiver Cameron Sullivan-Brown Commits To Penn State

Penn State landed its first 2017 receiver Friday, as three-star Laurel, Md., native Cameron Sullivan-Brown committed to the Nittany Lions over fellow finalists Maryland, West Virginia, Duke, and Syracuse.

Penn State wide receivers coach Josh Gattis offered Sullivan-Brown while he was on campus for an unofficial visit back in April. The St. Vincent Pallotti High standout returned for the Lasch Bash recruiting barbecue earlier this month. Sullivan-Brown is the fourth attendee to commit to the Nittany Lions in the weeks following the annual extravaganza, joining linebacker Brelin Faison-Walden and safeties Jonathan Sutherland and Derrek Pitts.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Sullivan-Brown is considered the 12th-best prospect out of Maryland this cycle and the 80th-overall wide receiver nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite. He’s the 12th verbal in Penn State’s rapidly expanding Class of 2017. It doesn’t look like Gattis and the Nittany Lions are done recruiting receivers, as three-star Mac Hippenhammer is strongly considering offers from Penn State and Iowa.

The Nittany Lions are loaded with talent at wide receiver, but that doesn’t mean Sullivan-Brown won’t have a shot to make an early impact when he arrives on campus.
