Tips For Creating The Perfect Game Day Make-Up Look

By: Gabriela Stevenson and Sara Civian

Game day, if not a celebration of unity and grit in the Penn State community, is the perfect time to practice your selfie skills. For most women, a lot of focus is placed on what to wear to the game, but if you want to go all out, you might want to consider rocking a blue and white make-up look into Beaver Stadium.

We know that blue and white (especially blue) might be intimidating colors to put on your face, so we created two looks for you to wear to any game, day or night.

Sara Civian: The Basic Look

  1. Begin with your preferred face routine.
  2. Create a wing on your upper lid with a navy blue liquid eyeliner..
  3. Line the rim of your bottom eyelid with a white eyeliner.
  4. Apply mascara to your top and bottom lashes.
  5. Use the blue eyeliner to paint a little paw print next to one of your eyes.

  2. Go in with a bright, shimmery, white eye shadow and put it all over the lid.
  3. Waterline and tight line the rims of your eyelids with a black eyeliner.
  4. Apply a charcoal grey or black shadow on the bottom lid with a small brush, and blend it out with a big, fluffy brush.
  5. Apply mascara to your top and bottom lashes.
  6. Line your lips with a lip liner that matches your natural lip color to give them a defined shape.
  7. Apply a navy blue lipstick all over the lips. Make sure you take your time!Dramatic Game Day Look

Tips

  • Buy some fun face stickers shaped like paw prints or the Penn State logo to put near your eyes or on your cheeks.
  • Consider investing in a waterproof foundation and waterproof mascara in case you sweat or it starts to rain.
  • Always set your make-up with a setting spray — it’ll make your look last all four quarters.
  • Most importantly, rock whatever look you want and will be most comfortable in. Make-up or no make-up, we’re all here to cheer on Penn State.
