Second Armed Robbery Suspect Turns Himself In To Police
The remaining suspect in a September 5 armed robbery, 21 year-old Bilal McGruder, turned himself in to the State College Police on September 10. McGruder, who held up two Penn State students early in the morning last Monday with a semi-automatic handgun, is a resident of Philadelphia and has been considered armed and dangerous for the past week while police have searched for him. McGruder is being held at the Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of a $250,000 bail and is charged with multiple crimes including Robbery, Simple Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Theft and Access Device Fraud.
His accomplice, 20 year-old Penn State student Toure Williams, was found last week and is being held on a $25,000 bail. Toure has been charged with Criminal Conspiracy to commit Robbery as police identified him and his white Honda in surveillance tapes helping McGruder. No details have been released thus far in regard to when a trial will take place or to McGruders motivations for turning himself in.
