Residential Dining Celebrates The Last Days Of Summer With Watermelon-Themed Specialties

by Stephanie Chasi-Asqui and Sophia Fox

Penn State Campus Residential Dining, along with the National Watermelon Board, would like to invite students to celebrate the last days of summer with watermelon-themed lunch and dinner specialties on Thursday, Sept. 29.

These upscale meals will be offered at all five buffet-style commons to give students one last taste of summer before October hits. Students can enjoy the following lunch specials: grilled chicken watermelon and spinach salad with watermelon vinaigrette and grilled watermelon and feta salad with pomegranate molasses, basil, and shaved radish. Lunch is typically served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., depending on the dining commons location.

Continuing the last days of summer celebration, Penn State Campus Residential Dining also offers exquisite dinner specialties such as the chipotle rubbed pork chop with watermelon and blueberry salsa and the lemon watermelon quinoa salad. Dinner is typically served from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., but this may vary depending on the dining commons location. More information about exact lunch and dinner hours can be found at http://foodservices.psu.edu/residential-dining-hours-fall-2016.

Throughout this event, students will also be able to participate in various giveaways and watermelon trivia. Penn State Campus Residential Dining aims to provide students with a fun, upscale, last-taste of-summer dining experience as they reminisce about the summer days!
