The Every 28 Hours Plays At Penn State

The Penn State School of Theatre, Institute for the Arts and Humanities, and the College of Arts and Architecture, in collaboration with EVERY 28 HOURS PLAYS National Theater Project, presents Every 28 Hours, a collection of 75 one-minute plays.

Inspired by the widely shared and contested statistic that every twenty-eight hours a black person is killed by a vigilante, security guard, or police officer in the United States, the plays were curated from playwrights nationwide and were originally produced by the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and The One-Minute Play Festival in response to events in Ferguson following Michael Brown’s death.

On October 29, a 1 p.m. open dress rehearsal and a 7 p.m. performance will be held in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center.

On Monday October 31 from 1-3 p.m. and Tuesday November 1 from 5-7 p.m., Salon Conversations will provide an opportunity for discussion of this important cultural topic, held in the Memorial Lounge of the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center and open to all.
