Penn State Ranked No. 20 In AP Top 25

Penn State is climbing the college football polls this week.

After blowing out Purdue 62-24, the Associated Press ranked Penn State No. 20 in its AP Top 25 poll, up from the No. 24 spot last week. Before last week, the Nittany Lions hadn’t seen a spot on the AP poll since the end of the 2011 season, and now they’re ranked for the second week in a row.

Earlier today, Penn State broke into the USA Today Coaches poll at No. 23, after going unranked last week but receiving enough votes to finish at an exciting, but not officially ranked No. 27.

Penn State is expected to get even more Top 25 nods this week when the first College Football Playoff Committee Rankings are released Tuesday night.

The Nittany Lions currently sit at 6-2 (4-1 Big Ten) and face Iowa at home next Saturday under the lights at Beaver Stadium in a 7:30 primetime game, for which James Franklin is already calling for a second White Out.
