Former Florida Commit Fred Hansard Joins The Lions
Fred Hansard, a four-star defensive tackle out of the Hun School in Princeton, N.J., flipped from Florida to the Nittany Lions Sunday following an official visit. Hansard is the fourth-ranked defensive tackle in New Jersey, according to 247Sports. He had offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
Hansard committed to Florida this past August, but unofficially visited Penn State on Nov. 5. This was followed by an official visit yesterday. Hansard is rated as the second best recruit in Penn State’s 2017 class. With this addition, Hansard joins fellow four-star defensive recruits Yetur Matos (DE), Johnathan Sutherland (S), and Dylan Rivers (OLB). 24/7Sports now ranks Penn State’s 2017 recruiting class No. 20 in the nation and No. 4 in the Big Ten.
