Penn State Performing Arts Council Continues To ‘Empower And Create’ At Annual Showcase

The Penn State Performing Arts Council will present its annual end-of-the-year showcase on Thursday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Schwab Auditorium. The showcase is the final event in PAC’s “Empower and Create” signature series, which includes six events held throughout the school year to spotlight each genre PAC works with — dance, spoken word/writing, a cappella/vocal, instrumental, and theatre.

The showcase will feature performing arts groups and individuals from every corner of campus, including Shades of Blue, Tapestry Dance Company, PSUkelele, Blue in the FACE, ROAR Brass Ensemble, RAM Squad, The Pennharmonics, Penn State Taiko, The Belly Dance Club, The National Honor Society for Dance Arts, Penn State Thespians, and The Coda Conduct.

“The annual showcase is PAC’s largest collaborative event of the year,” PAC President Walker Konkle said. “This year’s showcase will feature performances from individual groups and collaborations between multiple groups and individuals, which is unique to the mission of PAC. Tickets are free, so we hope to see a great turnout this week to help students and people from around State College learn more about the student arts community here at Penn State.”

Tickets are available the day of the event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the PAC table in the HUB. Doors for the event will open at 7 p.m.
