Police Call Animal Organ Left Outside Beta Theta Pi House A ‘Sick Prank’

Campus police responded to the front walkway of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house after an unidentified animal organ was left near the sidewalk in what’s being called a “sick prank.”

As of noon, the dispatched officers hadn’t returned back to the police station, and could not provide any other additional details of the organ. Lieutenant Cover of Penn State campus police was able to comment on the matter. “I can tell you it wasn’t a human body part,” Cover said. “It was an animal organ, and the matter is still under investigation.”

No acts of vandalism or any related crimes have been committed against the Beta Theta Pi house since Timothy Piazza’s death on Feb. 4, 2017 — much unlike the vandalism committed against Kappa Delta Rho’s house after the fraternity was suspended in the spring of 2015.

Penn State did not immediately respond to a request for comment. We will provide updates when more information becomes available.
