Mountain Road Serenades THON Participants Late Saturday Night

Country band Mountain Road entertained the crowd at the BJC late Saturday night after the Pep Rally and pop/rock band My Hero Zero. The band was a change of pace from the rock and pop anthems that came before it in the THON schedule.

Mountain Road started out with a rendition of “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” by Brooks & Dunn followed by “Sweet Home Alabama” by Lynryd Skynyrd. After those fast-paced songs, they slowed the show down with “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton. They kept the pace up with “The Way It Is” by Bruce Hornsby and the Range.

Mountain Road then told the crowd they were going to “kick it old school for a minute” with “The Weight” by The Band. When they played “Wagon Wheel,” it was definitely a high point in the performance (Wagon Wheel is a football game favorite). They followed it up with “When My Time Comes” by Dawes and “Can’t You See” by The Marshall Tucker Band. They closed out the show with “The Folsom Prison Blues” by Johnny Cash.
