Saquon Barkley Fulfills Lifelong Promise To Buy His Parents A House
Saquon Barkley announced Tuesday night on Instagram that he’s finally fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams: purchasing his parents their own house. That NFL salary does have its perks.
“Something I promised my parents, ever since I was a young kid,” Barkley said on Instagram. “Finally be able to achieve that goal is the most amazing feeling. Every kid out there that has a dream continue to keep your head down and work your butt off, great things will come along the way.”
Long before Penn State’s star running back was chosen second overall in the 2018 NFL Draft, he vowed his first major purchase would be a home for his parents. Saquon’s parents, Alibay and Tonya, will reap the benefits of their son’s promise in a house that certainly looks fit for a weekly NFL watch party.
Buying his parents a house is just one more accomplishment on Barkley’s laundry list of offseason activities, which also includes becoming a father and featuring in ESPN’s annual Body Issue.
Still-No. 26 will likely make his NFL debut as a New York Giant in 74 days against the Jacksonville Jaguars at MetLife Stadium.
