Mike Posner To Perform For Free On Old Main Lawn

Think you’re cooler than Penn State?

Singer Mike Posner will perform on Old Main Lawn Friday afternoon as part of his Walk Across America, or as we like to call it, the millennial version of the Oregon Trail.

Posner announced on Instagram that he’d be stopping in Happy Valley for a “ninja show,” free, acoustic concert, for students at 3:30 p.m. If it rains, he will play in the HUB. On-and-off rain is forecasted throughout the day, according to AccuWeather.

When Posner announced his intention to cross the country on foot in December, State College was listed as one of his pit-stops. Nineteen days into his journey from Asbury Park, New Jersey to Venice Beach, CA, Posner has walked 211 of an expected 2,960 miles.

After more than two weeks on the road, Posner is already looking extra scruffy to say the least. In his post, he asked if anyone in town knew how to braid hair. In another post, Posner also requested a ride from his campground to campus and recommendations for a chiropractor and sports massage.

THE WALK ACROSS AMERICA. DAY 18 || State College, PA || 211/2960 MILES WALKED. Okay you crazy Nittany Lions! I’m coming to campus to play you off into the summer! A ninja show is where I play acoustic, FOR FREE. I know it’s party time but this will be very chill and I don’t have a microphone so please be respectful/sober as I play…then u can turn up after ???. I love these shows because no money changes hands and it feels like a very pure way for me to share my gifts. Bring a smile, a friend, and maybe a blanket to sit on ✨?????‍♂ A few other things. 1. I may need a ride from my campground there. Anyone sober and available? 2. Any recommendations on a chiropractor? I’ve been walking my butt off and could use an adjustment. 3. Any recommendations on a sports massage? Hamstrings are tiiiiiiight.

Posner represents the latest big name from students’ middle school years to hit campus this semester, following in the footsteps of Andy Grammer, the Jonas Brothers, and Iyaz. He last performed on campus in the HUB in 2010.
