Protestors in support of Osaze Osagie, the 29-year-old African-American State College resident who was fatally shot by police in March, have staged a demonstration and blocked off parts of College Ave. The protest is in response to District Attorney Bernie Cantorna’s announcement that the officers involved in Osagie’s death won’t face any charges.

College Ave. is closed between Shortlidge Road and Allen Street after protestors parked a vehicle in the crosswalk near the Allen Street Gates around 2 p.m. Wednesday. As a result of the protest, police placed cones at the intersection of College and Shortlidge and shut down South Allen Street to redirect traffic.

Protestors in the street held signs reading “Stop Killing Us,” “Dead White, and Blue,” “#WeAreNot,” and “Black Lives Matter.”

Campus Shuttle service has also been temporarily suspended “due to an ongoing traffic issue.”
