Fall 2020, Spring 2021 Student Parking Registration To Open August 18

Student parking permit registration for the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters will take place exclusively online from August 18 to August 20, Penn State announced in a release.

The parking permit registration schedule for students is as follows:

  • 12 p.m. Tuesday, August 18 (Off-campus student Commuter – SCR)
  • 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 19 (Off-campus long term storage – P43)
  • 12 p.m. Thursday, August 20 (Resident student permits – B11, L22, L42, L81, L82, YWH, L83)

In order to register for a parking spot, students will need a valid Penn State ID, an active Access account, and must have completed at least 29.1 credits. They’ll also need to provide license plate numbers and ownership information for their cars when registering.

Students living at West Halls and the Nittany Lion Inn can register for the YWH student permit option at the Nittany Parking Deck. Transportation Services made this decision following the conversion of the Nittany Lion Inn to student housing and classroom space for the fall semester.

YWH student permits will be available as single semester permits only. YHW-eligible students also have the option to purchase a permit in Lot 83 (located on Hastings Road).

Once registration is complete, students should print out a temporary permit to display on their dashboard until the permanent pass arrives in the mail. When the pass arrives at your local address, you can hang it on your rear-view mirror.

You can find more information about student parking through Transportation Services’ email blasts, Facebook, and Twitter. Students can also email the department for specific questions and concerns.
