Police Responding To ‘Credible Bomb Threat’ On Penn State’s Campus

Update, 12:05 p.m.: The Hofstetter Services Building has been given the “all-clear,” according to a Penn State text alert. The building was previously evacuated out of precaution.

Original Story: Penn State’s Hostetter Services Building has been evacuated as police investigate a “credible bomb threat” received Thursday morning.

The public is urged to avoid the Services Road area and take caution.

According to the alert, sent at 10:59 a.m., law enforcement authorities are responding to the received threat. Local, state, and federal agencies are assisting, and explosive detection canines are on-scene.

Penn State said it received a “credible bomb threat” via a phone call to the university’s police dispatch center Thursday morning, which indicated suspicious packages were delivered to an unknown location. Hostetter Services Building, which houses a campus mail center, was evacuated out of precaution.

Penn State said more information about the incident will become available as the investigation continues Thursday.
