Parents Weekend To Be Held Virtually Starting October 2

Penn State’s annual Parents and Families Weekend is moving online this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sponsored by the Penn State Parents Program, the event will run between Friday, October 2, and Sunday, October 4. Penn State parents and families will have the opportunity to learn more about the university and what it’s like to be a Penn State student through engaging virtual events, tours, and learning opportunities. More details are expected soon.

“We are creating fun and engaging events that will include innovative programs for everyone to enjoy from the safety and comfort of their home,” Cyndy Hill, director of the Penn State Parents and Families Program, said. “From virtual tours and college events, to programs that highlight the talents and skills of our students, we think you will enjoy the event. We are especially excited that the virtual format is more accessible for families who could not otherwise travel to campus.”

The program will also offer Family Care Packages for both students and families, which will soon be available for purchase. Family packages will include exclusive Penn State items, a car magnet, and other university merchandise, while student packages will contain a unique Penn State gift and other spirit items.

These packages will be delivered late September to early October.

“We hope you will make plans to participate in a weekend of fun, informative and engaging virtual events that aim to offer an enjoyable Parents and Families Weekend experience,” Hill said.

Check out the Parents and Families Weekend website for a schedule and other event-related information once they’re available.
