Days For Girls Club Providing Free Menstrual Cups To Students

Penn State’s Days For Girls club is partnering with an award-winning women’s health brand to provide free menstrual cups to students this month.

Days For Girls’ contribution is part of the “CampusCup 2020” initiative to make periods on campus more sustainable. The campaign was made possible through a partnership with OrganiCup, a Danish women’s health company that specializes in menstrual kits and cups.

Students can register for their free menstrual cup by filling out a quick three-question form using a valid Penn State email address. The deadline to sign up for a free cup is September 14. Cup distribution to students will still follow all social distance guidelines.

Students can use OrganiCup for up to 12 hours, even while sleeping, swimming, and running. It is also estimated that two years of OrganiCup use will keep 528 disposable period products from landfills.

In the past, Penn State’s Days For Girls club has sewn menstrual kits that it then donated to communities in need. It also recently sewed masks for healthcare workers fighting against the coronavirus pandemic.
