Penn State football has added another kicker to its 2021 recruiting class.

Five-star kicker Gabe Nwosu announced his decision to join James Franklin’s program via Twitter Wednesday afternoon.

“After praying with my family with this huge decision, I have decided to accept my offer and commit to PENN STATE UNIVERSITY,” Nwosu said in the Tweet. “Thank you Coach Franklin, Coach Lorig, and Coach Raisbeck for this life changing opportunity. Let’s get to work!!!”

Nwosu is rated as the No. 15 kicking prospect and the No. 14 ranked punter in the country by Kohl’s Kicking. He stands at 6’6″, 220-pounds (yes, 6’6″!), an unusually tall mark for a kicker. According to Kohl’s, his large frame has allowed him to hit some impressive field goals and kickoffs. Additionally, he is said to have “NFL potential as a K/P.”

The Maryland native chose Penn State over schools such as William & Mary and Fordham.

He is the second kicker to join Franklin’s 2021 recruiting class, joining fellow five-star recruit Sander Sahaydak. Sahaydak committed to the program back in April and is rated as the No. 1 kicker in the country.
