President Barron To Host Weekly Faculty Webinars Starting October 8

Penn State President Eric Barron will host a weekly webinar series to answer faculty members’ questions about the university’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The virtual series will begin at 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 8 through Zoom. All Penn State employees are encouraged to join online.

Penn State said the next few sessions will take place on Thursdays. Specific details for future sessions should come out soon.

Although registration isn’t required, faculty members can submit their questions in advance using this Google Forms link.

Cara Exten, a College of Nursing professor, will join Barron as a moderator to offer her professional perspective on the topic. Exten is also a member of the university’s COVID-19 Operations Control Center (COCC). She is currently the head of Penn State’s surveillance testing efforts.

The webinar session has a maximum of 500 participants and will be recorded for those who can’t attend. The Q&A will be accessible via this Zoom link.

Throughout this year, Barron and his colleagues have hosted university-wide town halls to address the pandemic and Penn State’s response to it. The university’s most recent town hall aired Sunday.
