What You Could’ve Bought With Your Beaver Stadium Cardboard Cutout Money

Following the trend of many professional and college sports teams, Penn State Athletics sold cardboard cutouts to be placed in Beaver Stadium for the 2020 football season.

Many fans were excited after having a chance to put a cardboard version of themselves inside of the stadium. But that the Nittany Lions are off to the worst start to the season in history, some fans might be rethinking their $85 investment in a piece of cardboard.

If you’re regretting your purchase already, here’s what you could have bought instead.

8.5 Chicken Baskets

Coming in at $10 per basket, Beaver Stadium’s chicken baskets are the cream of the crop when it comes to drunk food stadium snacks. The satisfaction of taking that first bite of chicken after waiting in line for 30 minutes during halftime is almost unmatched.

Instead of buying a cutout, you could’ve had a little more than a season’s supply of this fine meal.

18 Packs Of Grilled Stickies

We all miss Ye Olde College Diner, but thank goodness the legacy of its Grilled Stickies still lives on. You could’ve bought enough boxes to last you all semester long!

14 Pints Of Creamery Ice Cream

The price of one cardboard cutout could have gotten you some of the best ice cream on the planet once a week for almost an entire semester. Who wouldn’t want that?

36% Of A Student Season Football Ticket

At many schools, $85 would cover the entire price of a student football ticket with a little bit of cash leftover. Unfortunately, Penn State has some of the most expensive football tickets in the country.

Instead of having your cutout in Beaver Stadium for every home game, you could actually put yourself in the stadium for almost two and a half games.

Three Rounds Of Golf At The Penn State White Course

If you ask most golf fanatics, many of them would much rather spend their last three Saturday’s on the golf course instead of watching Penn State football. The truth hurts sometimes.

10.5 Godzilla Burritos From Yallah Taco

Do you want to spend $85 for cardboard or 10 and a half of the best burritos money can buy in State College? It might be time to realign some priorities.

0.17% Of The JoePa statue

According to some rough estimates, the JoePa statue, or a potential new version, is worth around $50,000. Many Penn Staters would rather buy their small portion of this piece of Penn State history. But first, somebody needs to find the statue…
