Penn State Selling Rec Hall Cardboard Cutouts

Although fans won’t be able to head to Rec Hall this spring, Penn State is giving them the chance to sit in the bleachers…in one way or another.

Fans can purchase Rec Hall cutouts for the entire spring season, including matches for Penn State wrestling, men’s and women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s gymnastics.

“The 2021 Penn State Athletic spring season is going to be unique,” Athletics said. “It’s not going to be the same without the strength of all our fans cheering from the stands.”

Students can purchase cutouts for $35 apiece by entering their student ID numbers at checkout. Other fans can buy them for $45.

Once orders are fulfilled, Penn State said it’ll upload pictures to teams’ social media accounts so fans can locate their cutouts within Rec Hall.

When uploading pictures, fans are advised to wear their favorite Penn State gear to “help enhance the atmosphere and visual presence” at Rec Hall. Be sure to keep Penn State’s photo rules, including limits on profane gestures and commercial advertising, in mind when uploading your likeness.

Penn State said it’ll announce plans for cutout pickup events for fans “most likely” in the summer once coronavirus pandemic restrictions are eased. Athletics said it’ll hold onto cutouts for fans until each team’s next season begins.

Previously, Penn State sold cutouts at Beaver Stadium and the Bryce Jordan Center.
