Report: Penn State Football Running Back Joseph Bruno Enters Transfer Portal
Penn State football running back Joseph Bruno has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal after just one season in Happy Valley, according to 247Sports’ Sean Fitz.
Bruno came to Penn State this past year and walked ran onto James Franklin’s program. He appeared in eight games for the Nittany Lions as a true freshman this past season, primarily on special teams.
The Germantown, Maryland native got an opportunity at running back in Penn State’s final game against Illinois. He made the most of it by carrying the ball three times for 35 yards, including a 20-yard gain.
The Nittany Lions are expected to return a crowded running back room next season headlined by Noah Cain, Keyvone Lee, Devyn Ford, and Caziah Holmes. Bruno will likely try his luck in the transfer portal with the hopes of carving out a larger role somewhere else.
Bruno is the second first-year Nittany Lion to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining quarterback Micah Bowens.
