Crust & Crumb Cafe Temporarily Closed Following COVID-19 Exposure

Crust & Crumb Cafe is temporarily closed due to an employee’s apparent exposure to COVID-19, according to an Instagram post published by the bakery.

In a statement, the cafe said its employees will get tested for the virus following potential COVID-19 exposure. Although it didn’t provide an exact timetable for its return, Crust & Crumb said it’ll shut its doors “for a period of time this week.”

“We at Crust & Crumb Cafe believe in full disclosure to the public for the safety of our community & employees,” the artisan bakery said in a statement. “We thank you for your understanding and support, and hope to reopen as soon as possible.”

The cafe did not immediately respond to a request for comment on its potential COVID-19 exposure or reopening date.

Located at 115 E. Beaver Ave., Crust & Crumb opened last fall to glowing reviews from our staff. It currently serves a wide assortment of exotic coffee varieties, teas, and baked goods, including cookies, bagels, muffins, and sandwiches.

Crust & Crumb was founded by Penn State alumna Amber Winkler, who, after graduating from the College of Engineering, received a culinary degree from the American Academy of Culinary Arts.
