Penn State Study Abroad Week 2021 Set To Begin February 1

Penn State’s Office of Global Programs and its partners will once again host Study Abroad Week this semester, this time beginning on Monday, February 1.

Throughout the week, students can learn the basics of what it means to study abroad, how a semester abroad can be marketed to future employers, and more. There will also be information sessions about studying abroad amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Study Abroad Week 2021 will kick off on February 1 with “Study Abroad 101” from 3 to 4 p.m. In this info session, students who have already completed their study abroad programs will share basic information like navigating the study abroad website and evaluating costs and financial aid opportunities.

“The safety of our students, faculty and staff are the top priority,” said Brian Brubaker, director of Education Abroad in Global Programs at Penn State. “While education abroad programming is currently paused in light of the global pandemic, we are committed to providing students with the information they’ll need to have a successful study abroad experience in the future.”

On Tuesday, February 2, from 4 to 6 p.m. students can hear from academic advisers, college study abroad representatives, and more about navigating academic challenges that come with studying abroad.

Global Programs will also several more workshops, info sessions, and question and answer sessions later in the week.

You can learn more about the week’s events and register for sessions through Global Programs’ website.
