What’s Inside THON 2021 Dancer Boxes?

This year, Dancer Relations committee members gave dancers a fun basket full of extremely important survival items gifts to help them remember their inner child and support them while they stand.

Ever wondered what’s inside these boxes? Well, we sat down for some unboxings to get to the bottom of it. Here’s what we saw:

Coloring Kit — What’s a better thing to do on your breaks than coloring? With a 48-color crayon set and coloring pages, the kit can help with relaxation and passing time.

Journal — For many people, THON is one of the most memorable weekends of their college experiences. Among the celebration of long-year efforts, great music, and lots of dancing, there are plenty of memories during those 46 hours. You might want to write down the most special ones.

Photo Album — What about also collecting visual memories to complement your written ones? In the future, looking back at all that happened during the weekend will be an amazing memory.

A Few Balls — A tennis, a mini football, and an orange plastic ball…have fun exercising and staying active.

Building Blocks — Time to practice logical thinking with some building blocks. Whenever dancers are on break and feeling creative, just use these bad boys.

Bubbles — For ultimate fun and distraction, bubbles!

Card — A card from Dancer Relations committee members to help keep the spirits up!

Note Jar —  A jar with notes from everyone in the organization with words of inspiration and love for the fellow dancers. Just like the journal and the photo album, this is a gift to look back at many years in the future to remember how this year’s THON went.

‘For The Kids’ Picture Frame — To get these pictures to fill the album, you might need the FTK picture frame. It had both the Four Diamonds logo and the FTK THON message, symbolizing this decades-long partnership.

Basketball Finger Game — Time to make sure you are practicing your aim…with a hand-sized basketball game. Nothing like a gift to have a friendly competition with your roommates.

Play-doh & Flarp Noise Putty — No comment. Good for punching when stressed, though.

Another dancer we spoke with received a slightly different kit with some other useful items. Here’s what she had:

Vaseline — In the middle of snowstorms, Vaseline lip therapy is extremely important to trap moisture in the lips and avoiding chapped lips

THON Sticker — For the ultimate pride of participating in the largest student-run philanthropy in the world, a sticker to put in your car, computer, or anywhere else to show your pride.

Cotton Balls — Whether to use for arts & crafts or to clean after banging your little toe on the corner of table leg for dancing too much, dancers got a small supply of cotton balls.

Activity book — Just like the coloring book, this activity book is full of distractions to pass time like games such as word scramble

Absorbent Body Powder — You were dancing for a long time. You got sweaty. We understand. Use your gift and everyone will keep happy.

Cold Compress — After hours of standing for dancing, your legs and feet will thank you for this. Take full advantage of the cold compress and rest!

Committee members truly deserve a pat on the back for packing such thoughtful boxes for THON’s 592 dancers. Hopefully, they’ll make a weird weekend just a little more fun.
