SPA To Host TikTok Star Jeremy Scheck For Virtual Cooking Show, Q&A March 4

Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA) will host TikTok star and chef Jeremy Scheck for a virtual cooking show and Q&A at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 4.

The event will be held via Zoom webinar and can be accessed by registering for the event. Questions can be submitted there for Scheck as well.

Scheck is best known for teaching and sharing original recipes on his TikTok account, ScheckEats, which he started last March while quarantining at home. His following grew to 1.5 million followers in the first six months and has since grown to more than 2 million.

Scheck has been featured in People magazine, Fox News, BBC Radio, Tasty, USA Today, and on the Food Network.

Additionally, Scheck has extensive culinary experience from being a home cook, working in a bakery, and hosting cooking courses at Williams-Sonoma. Apart from his passion for cooking, he is also currently studying Spanish and Italian at Cornell.

Participants are encouraged to purchase 2 to 4 pounds of Yukon gold or redskin potatoes, a large handful of kosher salt, and olive oil or avocado oil to cook alongside him.

This event is part of ScheckEats’ CollegeTown Kitchen series that aims to share accessible recipes for college students and graduates and teach basic cooking techniques for first-time chefs.

Like every SPA event, the cooking show and Q&A are free for Penn State students and funded by their student-initiated fee. Students will need to verify themselves using their WebAccess IDs before entering the virtual event.
