Pattee & Paterno Library Spring Hours Extended

Penn State’s Pattee and Paterno libraries have announced extended spring operating hours following a successful start to the semester.
Hours for the lower floors will begin at 9 a.m. starting Monday, March 8. The 7:30 a.m. quiet study spaces in the Paterno Library’s Starbucks, MacKinnon’s Lounge, and Ross Global News Center will continue operating on that schedule.
“Adding hours back to Pattee Library and Paterno Library’s weekly schedule has been part of Penn State University Libraries’ phased plan to provide safe operating hours and library spaces,” said Leo Lo, the Libraries’ associate dean for learning, undergraduate services and Commonwealth Campuses.
Moving forward, Lo said Penn State hopes to resume Sunday library hours as the semester progresses.
“As we continue to assess these conditions, we are hopeful that we can reinstate Sunday hours soon,” Lo said.
Additionally, the Curtin Road entrance to Paterno Library will continue to open at 7:30 a.m. on weekdays, and the Starbucks opening at 8 a.m. The self-service pickup area for requested checkout items will continue to open at 11 a.m.
Pattee Library’s ground-floor Collaboration Commons, Central Atrium, first floor Knowledge Commons, Sidewater Commons, and Commons Desk will open at 9 a.m. on weekdays.
The Ask a Librarian service, which can be accessed here, is staffed from noon to 10 p.m. on Sundays; 8 a.m. through 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday; 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. on Fridays; and 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
