Hand-Dipped Ice Cream Returning To Berkey Creamery March 22

Ice cream lovers, rejoice!

The Berkey Creamery will resume scooping hand-dipped ice cream once again on Monday, March 22. It previously stopped scooping over the past year amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re excited to start dipping again — it’s a long time coming,” said Jim Brown, the Creamery’s sales and marketing manager.

On the verge of returning to the menu is scooped ice cream in bowls, with a cone on top (if requested!). Milkshakes, on the other hand, won’t be back just yet. However, their exclusion is only temporary.

“We are reintroducing our made-to-order and self-serve options slowly,” Brown said. “We have to be cautious about offering products that potentially involve hand-to-hand contact. Like everyone, we are eager to get back to normal operations, but it’s important that we walk before we run.”

Over the past year, the Creamery has implemented new signage marking 6 feet between spaces to encourage social distancing, on top of new plexiglass placed at countertops. Additionally, one Creamery staffer serves as a designated “sanitation specialist” to clean touched surfaces.

As always, Creamery customers must wear face masks inside the shop.

The Creamery is open seven days a week from noon until 6 p.m. Happy dipping!
