The University Park Student Fee Board met Friday to finalize funding allocations for the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters.

After a two-week voting process, the board came to a unanimous decision to maintain the flat fee of $265 per student per semester for the next academic year. For students who attend both the fall 2021 and spring 2022 semesters, this will be a $530 annual charge.

Student fees are reduced in the summer, depending on the number of credits taken by each student. For students taking more than nine credits, the fee will be $198.75. Students who take five to eight credits will pay $132.50, and students taking fewer than five credits will have a fee of $66.25.

The board also voted to implement the Environmental Sustainability Fund. This initiative focuses on encouraging environmentally friendly practices across campus. It begins with Penn State Transportation Services’ Bike Master Plan.

$170,000 was allocated to the master plan by the Student Fee Board, and $80,000 will be set aside for an ESF reserve.

2021-2022 allocation: $4,937,300 (1.8% increase from 2020-2021 allocation)

Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Committee

2021-2022 allocation: $71,050 ($6,000 increase from 2020-2021 allocation)

University Health Services

Student Organization Support
