Micah Parsons To Be Featured On ESPN’s ‘Hey, Rookie’
For the fourth year in a row, a Penn State prospect’s journey to the NFL Draft will be chronicled on ESPN’s “Hey, Rookie, Welcome To The NFL.”
This time around, the cameras will follow star linebacker Micah Parsons, among a handful of other prospects, as he trains and prepares for the upcoming draft.

Just this week, Parsons and ESPN filmed portions of the show as he visited Happy Valley for Penn State’s Pro Day on Thursday, March 25. The highly touted linebacker stopped by the Creamery Wednesday with fellow Nittany Lion Jesse Luketa for a few scoops and a half-gallon of lemonade, too.

Each year, “Hey Rookie” focuses on the lives of draft-eligible players and follows them through their pre-draft workouts and the NFL Combine. The show traditionally culminates with the draft itself.
Parsons is now the fourth Penn Stater to be featured on the show in recent history. Last year, ESPN documented wide receiver KJ Hamler’s close-knit family. In 2019, “Hey, Rookie” followed Trace McSorley’s draft journey and chronicled his underdog-like story. The year before, the show followed Saquon Barkley’s wild lead-up to the draft, including ping pong matches in James Franklin’s basement and a pit stop at Gator World with Marcus Allen.
According to Penn State’s Twitter account, Parsons’ episode is set to premiere on April 20, nine days before the 2021 NFL Draft gets underway. Following an impressive Pro Day showing, Parsons is expected to hear his name called in the first round, if not the top 10.
