Chris Hogan Signs With Premier Lacrosse League’s Cannons LC

Following a successful stint as a wide receiver in the NFL, former Penn State lacrosse player Chris Hogan has returned to his roots and found a home in the Premier Lacrosse League.

Hogan was claimed off waivers by Cannons LC of the Premier Lacrosse League on Wednesday afternoon. He joins eight other players that were claimed by Cannons LC as a part of the team’s inaugural roster.

The Wyckoff, New Jersey native played for the Nittany Lions’ lacrosse program as a midfielder for four seasons starting in 2007. In his junior season, Hogan lead the Nittany Lions with 34 points on the year and was named captain.

Following his lacrosse career at Penn State, Hogan decided to play football at Monmouth University as a graduate transfer, where he played a multitude of positions. He finished the 2010 season with three touchdown passes, 12 receptions for 147 yards and three touchdowns, and 28 tackles and three interceptions on defense.

Hogan then went undrafted in the NFL and ended up having a nine-year stint, most notably with the New England Patriots where he won two Super Bowls. He was recently with the New York Jets before being waived in December 2020.

Hogan then signed with the PLL in February and declared for the 2021 Entry Draft. Despite going undrafted and being out of the game of lacrosse for almost a decade, Hogan brings championship experience to a Cannons team that is entering its first season of existence with the likes of Paul Rabil and Lyle Thompson leading the charge.

He is the fourth Nittany Lion on a PLL roster this season, along with Grant Ament, Drew Adams, and Chris Sabia.
