Penn State and Ohio State softball have mutually agreed to cancel Monday’s series finale “out of an abundance of caution,” Penn State Athletics announced Monday.

Monday’s game was originally supposed to be played on Friday, April 2, but was moved due to cold temperatures in State College. Penn State added in its statement that the contest will not be rescheduled.

Neither side confirmed which team the health and safety issues were coming from.

Ohio State handled Penn State in the first three games of the series, but the Nittany Lions were trying to bounce back for their first win at home in over a year. They will have to wait a little longer to earn that win, which would be their second of the season.

Penn State is next slated to stay at home when Rutgers comes to visit for a four-game series. Game one is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 9.
