For the third straight year, Penn State students have the opportunity to show off their artwork as a part of the Centre Film Festival.

Penn State students are asked to submit their work for the chance to make the poster for the 2021 Centre Film Festival. Students can send in their portfolios and/or websites to pearl@centrefilm.org, along with a short explanation of their interest in film and the festival. The deadline to submit is May 15.

The Centre Film Festival is hosted by the Centre Film Workshop, an organization founded back in 2019. The idea was to start an organization that focuses and brings local films and other multimedia storytelling into the spotlight. The festival is directed by Penn State professor and filmmaker Pearl Gluck.

“Our aim is to engage student artists at every level of this festival every year,” Gluck said, “which is why we are committed to having each year’s festival feature a student artist.”

Last year’s posters were designed by Sam Davey, a 2020 Penn State graduate from the School of Visual Arts and the Schreyer Honors College.

The 2021 festival will take place from Friday, November 5, to Sunday, November 7, at the Rowland Theatre in Philipsburg, Pennsylvania. The festival will return to an in-person format following the 2020 edition, which was forced to be fully virtual due to the pandemic.
