NCAA To Allow 50% Capacity At Spring Soccer Tournaments

Starting April 28, the NCAA will let fans attend its remaining spring championships, including its soccer tournaments, at 50% capacity.

Tickets for Penn State men’s soccer’s tournament-opening matchup in North Carolina are already on sale, according to the team. The women’s team hasn’t yet announced ticket information for its postseason opener.

Other sports, such as FCS football, will also be open to crowds, but that won’t apply to Penn State.

Despite a surprisingly low seed, the women’s team will kick things off on Wednesday, April 28 against Alabama State at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. On Sunday, May 2, the men will begin their tournament against UMass at UNC Greensboro Soccer Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Fans have already been back in some capacity for the latter half of the season. Before the Big Ten Tournament allowed Penn State students a limited number of seats, Nittany Lion supporters have been gathering on Park Avenue to support the team from outside Jeffrey Field.

Those who choose to attend live matches must still adhere to social distancing guidelines and wear masks. For more information, click here.
