Flo Rida To Headline Movin’ On 2021

Flo Rida will officially headline Movin’ On’s virtual end-of-the-year music festival, while Pink Sweat$ and FlooringCo. will also perform.

The online festival will begin at 7 p.m. that night. The whole shindig is free for students and funded by their student-initiated fees.

Here’s a brief rundown of this year’s acts:

Flo Rida

Flo Rida is an aptly named Florida-based rapper, singer, and songwriter who broke onto the scene in 2007 with his breakout single, “Low,” which topped the United States charts for 10 straight week. At the time, it broke the record for digital download sales.

Since then, he’s released four studio albums, most recently “Wild Ones” in 2012. He’s sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Flo Rida’s catalog includes hits like “Right Round,” “Club Can’t Handle Me,” “Good Feeling,” and “My House.”

His performance will begin at 8 p.m. on April 30.

Pink Sweat$

David Bowden, better known as Pink Sweat$, is an American singer-songwriter. He released his first EP, “Volume 1,” in November 2018 and followed it up with his debut album “Pink Planet” in February 2021.

A Philadelphia native, Bowden grew up on Christian and gospel music and now incorporates it into his tracks. His music today features a mix of R&B, soul, and pop.

Pink Sweat$’s performance will begin at 7:15 p.m. on April 30.

FlooringCo.

This indie-rock band will open Movin’ On’s festival after winning its annual battle of the bands competition earlier this month. The group, composed of four college-aged friends, currently has music available on Apple Music and Spotify, where it has close to 10,000 monthly listeners and one single, “Suburban Psycho,” with nearly 20,000 plays.

The band performs a combination of original tracks and covers of indie and alternative rock. Check out FlooringCo.’s Instagram page for a closer look at the group.

The group will open Movin’ On 2021 ata 7 p.m. on Friday, April 30.

This year’s Movin’ On festival will be livestreamed through Zoom and produced by WPSU Radio. It will kick off on Friday, April 30, to commemorate the last day of classes for the spring semester.
