Relay For Life At Penn State Raises $21,369.45 Through Virtual Fundraiser
Relay For Life at Penn State held its 2021 virtual event Saturday and announced it raised $21,369.45 total to benefit the American Cancer Society.
After a year of fundraising events to raise money for cancer research and awareness, those involved in Relay For Life came together for a 12-hour virtual walk-a-thon. This year’s virtual event included scavenger hunts, trivia hours, and the Luminaria Ceremony, which honored those who’ve been personally affected by cancer.
The aptly named “FUNdraising Committee” led the organization’s teams by raising $2,543 this year. SFU Phi Delta Kappa led non-Relay teams by raising $4,438.
Last year’s fundraiser raised nearly $42,000. Like 2021’s, it was also held entirely virtually due to the pandemic.
Relay For Life at Penn State will continue its efforts to raise money for cancer research, and donated funds will now go toward the 2022 total. Anyone can get involved with Relay For Life at Penn State through its website.
