Four-Star Defensive Lineman Zane Durant Commits To Penn State Football
The July 4 fireworks just keep on coming for James Franklin and Penn State football.
After three-star linebacker Keon Wylie announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions Saturday, four-star defensive lineman Zane Durant announced Sunday afternoon on Instagram live that he’s coming to Happy Valley as well.
Durant chose the Nittany Lions over Indiana, Miami, UCF, and Auburn, among others. The Orlando native attends Lake Nona high school down in Florida and will be a member of Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class. He totaled 40 tackles and 6.5 sacks his junior year, according to his MaxPreps profile.
According to 247sports, the 6’1″, 250-pound lineman is a top-50 prospect in the state of Florida and a top-50 defensive lineman in the nation.
Durant’s commitment is another impressive addition to Penn State’s incredibly strong 2022 class. The Nittany Lions currently have the No. 2 recruiting class in the Big Ten and sit at No. 8 in the nation. With Durant’s commitment, it’s safe to say Franklin is on a bit of a summer hot streak here. This is now the third prospect to officially commit to the Nittany Lions in just the past three days.
