Penn State Hoops Adds Canisius Grad Transfer Jalanni White

Penn State men’s basketball added another transfer to the roster Friday afternoon.

Forward Jalanni White will join the Nittany Lions as a grad transfer after spending four years at Canisius College.

Over four seasons, White average 5.1 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. He started in 51 games, including 11 of the Golden Eagles’ 12 games during the 2020-21 season. He averaged 3.7 points and 2.2 rebounds that year, too.

His best production came during the 2019-20 season when he averaged seven points and 3.4 rebounds per game. The Connecticut native averaged around 18 minutes a game, proving to be a big asset coming off of the bench.

White will likely provide some important depth behind John Harrar and fellow transfer Greg Lee, resulting in a noticeable difference from last season. Then, size was an issue behind Harrar, so a proven presence like 6’8″ White will surely help the team moving forward.
