SPA, Movin’ On To Host Welcome Back Event August 28

Penn State’s Student Programming Association (SPA) will welcome students back to campus with an in-person event following the first week of class.

In collaboration with Movin’ On, SPA will host “LightsUP” at 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 28, on the HUB Lawn. It’ll feature a full slate of currently unannounced activities, highlighted by a concert by an unannounced artist.

The full event is completely free for students. According to SPA, LightsUP aims to celebrate the start of the school year and bring students together.

LightsUP will ultimately follow Penn State’s current COVID-19-related guidelines, which are subject to change. SPA said more details on safety protocols will be released “in the very near future.”

In years past, SPA and Movin’ On have collaborated to bring T-Pain and Ty Dolla $ign to the HUB Lawn to respectively celebrate the beginning of 2018 and 2019’s fall semesters.
